Présentation

Marta Alcolea, PhD in 2017 at the University of Zaragoza, is a Post-doctoral researcher at University of Santiago de Compostela - GEPN-AAT (Spain) and Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle - CNRS UMR 7209 AASPE (France). My archaeological research is focused on hunter-gatherer and first farming societies from the Late Pleistocene to Middle Holocene in the Ebro basin (NE Iberia). As archaeobotanist, my research interests refer to human-forest interaction, wood management and impact of human activities, and vegetation history during Prehistory and historical times. For accomplishing this goal I have been trained in anthracology and dendroanthracology in European R+D Institutions as UAB (Spain), CNRS UMR 5059 CBAE (France) or La Sapienza University (Italy), conducting wood charcoal analyses in several archaeological sites and natural deposits. This facet allowed me to integrate in interdisciplinary networks of collaboration with different fields of palaeoecological and biogerographical research (IPE-CSIC, PALEOQ) working in different chronologies and contexts.
