- Small mammals from the Lower and Middle Pleistocene levels of the Atapuerca caves : systematics, palaeogeography, palaeoecology, and evolution.
- Biochronology of small vertebrates and human evolution in Western Europe.
- Small mammals from the Holocene archaeological levels of El Portalón (Sierra de Atapuerca) : systematics, taphonomy and contextual data.
- Palaeoenvironmental reconstructions based on small vertebrates from archaeo-palaeontological Quaternary deposits at the Cantabrian range.
- Fossil insectivores from the Balearic Islands : systematics, evolution, ancient DNA, phylogeny, and insular adaptations
- Post-glacial recolonization and Holocene human impact on populations of shrews and hedgehogs from Western Europe : historical biogeography, geometric morphometrics, phylogeography, and radiocarbon dates.
Fieldwork
Coordinator of the washing-sieving, recollection and management of fossil small vertebrates during the field campaigns in Atapuerca (Burgos, Spain). Institutions : Atapuerca Project, Atapuerca Foundation. Dates : every July since 2001 to date.
